Arrest warrant: Three young people in North Rhine-Westphalia in custody because of attack plans

Three young people from North Rhine-Westphalia are said to have planned an Islamist-motivated terrorist attack. The Düsseldorf District Court had already decided on the Easter weekend at the request of the Central Office for the Prosecution of Terrorism (ZenTer NRW). Arrest warrants issued against them, the Düsseldorf public prosecutor’s office said.

According to the information, those arrested are two girls and a boy: a 15-year-old from Düsseldorf, a 15-year-old from the Märkisches Kreis and a 16-year-old from the Soest district. All three were taken into custody.

They are said to have agreed to commit crimes. According to the General Prosecutor’s Office, this is “murder and manslaughter in conjunction with the preparation of a serious act of violence that endangers the state,” reported the Rheinische Post.

According to the Picturenewspaper, the state security service in Hagen tracked down the young accused. The young people are said to have glorified the radical Islamic terrorist organization “Islamic State” (IS). The aim was to attack Christians in churches and police officers in police stations with knives and Molotov cocktails, the report continued.
