Woman pushed in front of the train: the process at the Munich district court begins – Munich

A man who is said to have pushed a woman in Munich in front of an incoming S-Bahn has asserted memory gaps in court. He no longer knew anything about the day of the alleged act in June last year, he said on Monday before the Munich I district court.

The 27-year-old, who is accused of attempted murder, was not guilty due to paranoid schizophrenia, according to prosecutors. Accordingly, he had pushed the victim on the S-Bahn platform at the main station because the woman was in his way. The rolling train came to a stop in time due to emergency braking, and the woman suffered minor injuries.

The 64-year-old woman told the court that she had been suffering from pain on a regular basis ever since. Psychological problems also arose as a result of the attack. The accused said he was taking medication that made him forgetful because of his illness. He offered the woman an apology, which she declined.

According to the public prosecutor, the 27-year-old is a danger to the general public due to illness. Therefore, he should be accommodated in a psychiatric hospital.
