Barry McCarthy failed on precisely this issue in his two years in office as boss. On Thursday he announced his departure, garnished with devastating business figures: Sales fell by four percent to $718 million in 2023, and the loss was around $167 million. As a final official act, McCarthy announced that he would lay off 15 percent of the global workforce.
