Two suspects indicted and imprisoned after fatal robbery in a gun store

Two men who participated in the robbery of an armory in Eslettes (Seine-Maritime), during which one of the perpetrators was killed by a store employee, were indicted in particular for “criminal association” and were imprisoned, announced the Rouen public prosecutor’s office on Sunday.

During his hearing by the gendarmes, the man arrested on Tuesday, the day of the tragedy, confirmed “having wanted to ‘rob’ this armory with two other individuals to take weapons”, indicated the public prosecutor of Rouen Frédéric Teillet in a press release. According to the suspect’s statements, three young men, aged 18, from the Paris region, went to the armory with a stolen car.

One last criminal still wanted

“When they entered the store, they targeted the employee [de l’armurerie] who fired, killing one of them and causing the other two to flee,” continues the magistrate. The employee “having continued to shoot at them as they fled, then shot him in the leg”. On Thursday, the prosecutor indicated that the employee of the armory responsible for the fatal shooting had been placed under judicial supervision.

One of the three perpetrators of the robbery was taken care of by a fourth man, who was taken into custody and remanded in custody on Saturday, according to the same source. Thus, of the four suspected criminals, one was killed, two were imprisoned and one is still actively sought by the police.
