The Taiwanese manufacturer MSI will no longer offer Radeon graphics cards from AMD and will instead focus on its Geforce partnership with Nvidia. This step only comes as a surprise at first glance, as there have been no custom designs of many current graphics card series, such as the 7800 XT, 7700 XT, 7600 XT and 7900 GRE.
Radeon graphics cards from MSI are being discontinued
Like a look into the PCGH price comparison from Geizhals confirmed, in addition to the four completely omitted models from the Radeon RX 7000 series based on RDNA 3, the Radeon RX 7900 becomes. Hardware Unboxed first noticed this fact.
In response to a request from the website HardwareLuxx MSI has commented on the Radeon exodus and confirmed that the focus is initially on Nvidia’s current Geforce graphics cards. Radeon graphics cards from MSI have not been delivered to retailers for a long time, as the empty warehouses show.
When it comes to graphics cards, our focus at the moment is actually more on RTX cards. Nevertheless, the collaboration with AMD is essential and extremely relevant for us. We see a very positive development, particularly in the area of mainboards.

A collaboration between MSI and AMD will initially be limited to the area of mainboards, where the manufacturer sees “a very positive development”. In the recent past, MSI has also stood out as a launch partner for Intel’s core processors. With the MSI Claw, the manufacturer from Taiwan also relies on Intel’s significantly weaker product with Intel Core Ultra (“Meteor Lake”) rather than AMD’s solutions, which are clearly the leaders here.
Less tragic for players
The end of MSI’s custom designs based on current Radeon graphics cards is less tragic for gamers and not a big loss. The Taiwanese manufacturer had given its custom designs based on Radeon RX 7000 very little love anyway and had adopted the cooling solutions of its Radeon RX 6000 unchanged. The ending comes as little surprise.
