Titanic actor Bernard Hill dies at 79

British actor Bernard Hill has died at the age of 79. He played, among other things, the captain of the “Titanic” in the film of the same name and King Théoden in “Lord of the Rings”.

“Titanic” actor Bernard Hill has died at the age of 79. This was reported by the BBC with reference to Hills Management. Hill was born in Manchester in 1944 and appeared in numerous films, television productions and the theater throughout his career.

Hill became internationally known through the world-famous classic film “Titanic” by James Cameron, which won eleven Oscars in 1998. In it Hill played Captain Edward Smith.

In Peter Jackson’s Oscar-winning film trilogy “Lord of the Rings”, Hill played King Théoden in the parts “The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers” and “The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King”.
