The accused in the trial of “all horrors” sentenced to life imprisonment

The verdict came in the early evening. This Friday, the Grenoble Assize Court sentenced the accused in the “all horrors” trial to life imprisonment, accompanied by a security sentence of 18 years.

The 34-year-old man, currently incarcerated at the Corbas remand center (Rhône), will also be required to receive treatment for fifteen years in the penitentiary establishment where he will be transferred. The defense immediately indicated that it would not appeal.

Julien* was on trial for the rapes of three former partners: two cohabiting partners and a girlfriend, who was a minor at the time they met. For two of them, he had forced them to have sexual relations with canines. A zoophile, the thirty-year-old was also prosecuted for having tortured and killed around a hundred animals, mainly dogs and rats, as well as for possessing nearly 150,000 child pornography files and videos.

“No mental illness”

Questioned in court on Thursday, the psychologist and psychiatric experts indicated that the man did not suffer from “any mental illness” but that he was driven by “great perversity” with “cruelty in addiction”.

The affair was revealed in 2020, when the former girlfriend of the accused broke the silence by contacting an animal rights association to inform them of the behavior of her partner and the abuse he inflicted on dogs , purchased on the Internet. This led to a complaint with the Grenoble public prosecutor’s office a few months later.
