Horst Lichter was taken with this object: the “Cash for Rares” presenter liked a Motograziella so much that he wanted to run away with it at the end of the show. But he was missing something important.

Horst Lichter can’t hide his enthusiasm: “That’s cool,” said the moderator when he discovered the folding moped in the expert room of “Cash for Rares”. It belongs to Wolfgang Kaus from Hofheim near Wiesbaden. The pensioner has been collecting two-wheelers for a long time, but it has now become a bit too much for his wife Beate, so this model is to be sold.

Detlev Kümmel lets the engine whine once, to the delight of Lichter. It is the Motograziella from the Italian manufacturer Carnielli from 1978. The expert then rattles off a whole series of technical data: The top speed is almost 40 km/h, the engine has 1.8 hp and the weight is 37 kilograms . “How sweet,” Lichter comments. Overall, the conclusion is very positive: the TÜV report and the operating instructions are included, and Kümmel describes the overall condition of the vehicle as “excellent”.

“Cash for Rares”: Horst Lichter can’t help it

Wolfgang Kaus would like 1,300 to 1,500 euros for his old darling. Kümmel’s expertise is only slightly lower. He estimates the value at 1200 to 1400 euros. “We’re totally into it,” says the seller happily.

It doesn’t take long in the dealer’s room before Roman Runkel is sitting on the saddle, but he quickly realizes that the vehicle is a bit small for him. Wolfgang Pauritsch opens the auction with 300 euros. David Suppes and Runkel are also interested, but initially the bids only increase in small steps. Only when Kaus points out that the operating license alone cost him 400 euros do the dealers give up.

The moped stays in the area: Suppes from Wiesbaden buys the two-wheeler for 1000 euros, the seller agrees. But at the end of the show it is Horst Lichter who grabs the Motograziella and drives around the studio with it. However, he doesn’t get very far: the dealer has the keys.
