Suggestions for more growth: Lindner is pushing ahead with its “economic turnaround” – Economy

Finance Ministry circles say there should be an agreement with Chancellor Scholz and Economics Minister Habeck by June. But many of the ideas that the FDP leader has in mind, such as retirement at 63, are likely to meet with resistance, especially in the SPD.

Federal Finance Minister and FDP leader Christian Lindner is serious about the “economic turnaround” he has been calling for for months. On Friday it was heard from circles in his ministry that there should be an agreement with Chancellor Olaf Scholz (SPD) and Economics Minister Robert Habeck (Greens) by June. This process has reportedly been agreed upon. All three houses involved have already presented their ideas and suggestions – and those of the Finance Minister are tough. Lindner’s goal: doubling Germany’s potential growth from the current 0.5 to 1.0 percent by 2028. “This is an agenda moment,” said the Finance Ministry, based on SPD Chancellor Gerhard Schröder’s 2010 Agenda.
