This is a very bad prerequisite for a day that requires mental energy. Because even the fastest car cannot drive without fuel. It’s no different with the brain. If he doesn’t get any energy, he finds it difficult to work.

Fatigue and headaches can be signs that something is missing from the brain – in many cases it is water. The human brain consists of around 80 percent water. If it is dehydrated, this can lead to the blood circulation in the head and also the oxygen supply no longer running smoothly. But it’s not just a well-managed water balance that’s worth its weight in gold for the brain’s performance.

Eating the wrong foods ages the brain

If you constantly eat chips and fries, you’re not doing your head any favors. The trans fats in it, which are hydrogenated vegetable fats, literally make the brain look old. There are studies that suggest that they reduce brain volume and therefore age faster. Sugar consumption should also be reduced. Although sugar can trigger a short-term energy boost when performance levels drop, studies suggest that it can also cause long-term damage to the brain and have a negative impact on memory.

Choosing the right foods can make a difference in how well or poorly we concentrate in a day. There are a whole range of foods that can rightly be described as brain food, as they strengthen the brain and ensure that we can think better. Nuts are a much better snack alternative than chips. They are full of omega-3 fatty acids, and nuts also contain important vitamins and antioxidants. Walnuts in particular are good helpers when your ability to concentrate weakens. The superfood avocado also contains unsaturated fatty acids, which, among other things, can have a positive effect on blood circulation in the brain.
