snow-covered roads this Wednesday in Haute-Loire and certain sectors of the Loire

As Météo France had announced, it snowed during the night, which made traffic tricky and even difficult in places in the early morning.

This was especially the case in Haute-Loire. Traffic was very difficult throughout the department with the exception of Brivadois. The RN88 was cleared of snow and smooth. Only the Pertuis/Saint-Hostien portion was more difficult to pass.

On the other hand, the roads were snow-covered throughout the secondary Altiligrian network.

In the morning, the difficulties were resolved thanks to snow removal. Only residual snow appeared on the roads at 9:30 a.m. Traffic nevertheless remained difficult between Montfaucon and Saint-Bonnet-le-Froid.

Snow but no chaos in Craponne-sur-Arzon

The snowfall during the night from Tuesday to Wednesday did not have any harmful consequences on the road network of the Casadean plateau and the Craponne region.

This Wednesday morning, snow was absent from the main networks (RD906 and RD901), a small layer of snow was present on the secondary network, without hindering traffic.

Smoother traffic in the Loire

In the Loire, the situation was much less complicated. Inforoutes 42 noted some difficulties on the side of the Forez and Pilat mountains due to snow-covered roads.

Traffic was thus delicate on the roads linking Saint-Bonnet-le-Château and Unieux, Usson and Périgneux on one side and in the sectors of Marlhes, Planfoy, Saint-Sauveur-en-Rue and Bourg-Argental.

In Roannais, the roads were also covered in snow between Balbigny and Violay.

Météo France had placed the two departments on orange snow-ice vigilance from Tuesday at midnight and until this Wednesday at 9 a.m., with a rain-snow limit at 600 meters above sea level.
