This year, Germans are suddenly experiencing a shortage of workers. Because few children are being born, this shortage of staff will only get worse in the years to come. In an interview, Chancellor Olaf Scholz (SPD) is now worried that many employees will quit early instead of working until retirement age. Scholz is right. But why does he stop at the diagnosis? As chancellor he can do more. In addition to better health management, the country needs a pension reform so that companies can still get people and the younger ones later get a pension.
