Ice hockey vice world champion Germany follows up on the gala against Latvia against Kazakhstan. The team can hardly be denied a place in the knockout phase of the World Cup.
The German national ice hockey team can slowly but surely plan for the quarter-finals of the Ice Hockey World Championship in the Czech Republic. With another convincing 8:2 (2:1, 3:0, 3:1) against Kazakhstan, the team of national coach Harold Kreis has nine points to their name.
With another success on Saturday (4:20 p.m./ProSieben and MagentaSport) against Poland, the jump into the knockout phase should be almost certain. Maksymilian Szuber (2nd minute), Parker Tuomie (3rd), JJ Peterka (22nd), Lukas Reichel (29th/51st), Lukas Kälble (36th), Frederik Tiffels (55th) and Maximilian Kastner (59th). ) met in Ostrava for the strong selection of the German Ice Hockey Association.

DEB selection comes into the game strongly

Kazakhstan had its first shot at NHL goalkeeper Philipp Grubauer’s goal after six minutes. However, that was the starting signal for the Central Asians. Roman Startschenko scored in the majority to make it 1:2 (8th). The otherwise strong German goalkeeper didn’t look too good.
The district team took control again after conceding a goal and could rely on their goalscorer again. NHL professional Peterka from the Buffalo Sabers renewed the two-goal lead with his third goal of the tournament. The 22-year-old had no success in the first three World Cup games and scored twice in the 8-1 win against Latvia.
With Reichel, another NHL professional was able to enter the once again long list of goalscorers. The Chicago Blackhawks striker was used for the first time in the third World Cup game and showed a clear upward trend. For Leonhard Pföderl, it was his seventh goal participation (three goals, four assists) in the Czech Republic. Only the Swiss Roman Josi (2+6) has been more successful in the tournament so far.
With defender Kälble’s 5-1 win, the game was finally decided in front of 8,479 spectators. It was the second goal of the tournament for the defender, who will be on the ice for Adler Mannheim next season.
The German national team also put the Kazakhs under pressure in the final half. Wojciech Stachowiak, with his fourth assist in the game, and Peterka, who contributed three assists in addition to his goal, served Reichel as in training. The 21-year-old had no problems making it 6-1. Kazakhstan was at least able to shorten the score through Artjom Korolyov (52′), and when they were outnumbered, Tiffels increased the score again. Kastner then set the final point with the eighth goal for Germany.
