PSG qualifies on the wire in Munich – C1 (F) – Gr. C – Bayern-PSG (2-2)

Bayern 2-2 Paris Saint-Germain

Goals: Gwinn (36e), Lohmann (75e) // Chawinga (73e), Stanway CSC (88e)

In pain.

Shaken on Bayern’s pitch, PSG came very close to elimination, but finally validated their ticket for the quarter-finals of the Champions League (2-2). After half an hour of purring, Constance Picaud opposed Lea Schuller (35e). Bayern opened the scoring immediately, from a corner, where Gladis Viggósdóttir’s delivery found the head of Giulia Gwinn (1-0, 36e). Pernille Harder came close to scoring the break by firing a left shot close to the post (39e). We had to wait until the second period to see PSG score a shot, by Grace Geyoro, who came up against Maria Grohs (53e).

The Parisiennes got back together with a quick restart from Picaud: Tuva Hansen messed up his header, and Tabitha Chawinga took the opportunity to recover the ball, clear the goalkeeper and equalize (1-1, 73e). The robbers were quickly put in their place, as two minutes later, Sydney Lohmann catapulted Klara Buhl’s cross to the back (2-1.75e). Virtually eliminated, the capital club avoided the ax thanks to a strike from Sandy Baltimore, deflected by the unfortunate Georgia Stanway (2-2, 88e). Jovana Damnjanovic gave a final thrill by sending the ball into the top corner, but the assistant referee’s flag logically went up (90e+7). First in its group with the same number of points as Ajax, PSG will challenge Benfica, Häcken or Brann in the quarters.

See you in the last square.
