Ottobrunn: millions for a new day care center – district of Munich

The complex with socially subsidized apartments and a day-care center in the Josef Seliger estate on Putzbrunner Straße in Ottobrunn can be further built. The third construction phase for the complex is due to start in the spring. Most recently, the main committee of the municipal council had concerns about the financing, especially of the day care center. After BML Managing Director Karl Scheinhardt answered questions in the meeting and the municipal council gained more insight into the figures, the committee agreed unanimously on almost all points.

To co-finance the 16 apartments in the section, the municipality will increase its capital contribution to the construction company by 1.45 million euros; this should enable a maximum rent of twelve euros per square meter. For the construction of the day-care center, which costs around 9.7 million euros, the municipality will pay an investment cost subsidy of around 2.9 million euros. In addition, the plan is for her to sign a rental agreement for the day care center with the construction company for at least 25 years. The rent will be around 22,000 euros a month instead of the 24,000 euros initially calculated. For this purpose, the municipality dissolves the “Family and Children” foundation and pays its funds of 320,000 euros as a rent-reducing investment cost subsidy to the construction company. Above all, the SPD voted against the dissolution of the foundation because they would have preferred to keep the money for campaigns for needy children. Funding of around one million euros is expected from the Free State.

The fact that the day care center does not ultimately belong to the municipality, despite the high expenses, had provoked criticism. In the municipal council, Jean Marcel Prasser (ÖDP) complained that the municipality financed the daycare center and that the BML had no risk. Mayor Thomas Loderer (CSU), who was connected via video due to illness, opposed this. The construction company does not earn anything from it, but for Ottobrunn the daycare center is important, especially since it will have an integrative and inclusive concept.
