Next Boeing breakdown: 767 plane lands on its fuselage in Istanbul – Economy

There is a boein at Istanbul airport g767 of the logistics group Fedex landed on the fuselage without front landing gear. The front landing gear of the machine could not be extended, the airport announced on platform X. Nobody was injured.

The plane had taken off from Paris. The error was apparently discovered before landing; the pilot had requested the control tower to land with the fuselage, it was said. The rescue service and fire brigade were then dispatched to the runway, state broadcaster TRT reported. There was a hydraulic error in the chassis, TRT quoted the Turkish Ministry of Transport, which referred to a pilot’s statement. Emergency services continued to work on getting the plane off the runway in the morning.

The fuselage landing is not the first mishap in the recent past for the aircraft manufacturer Boeing: The company has been in trouble since two crashes 737-Max-Jets with 346 deaths more than five years ago in a permanent crisis. A more than 20-month launch ban for the machines in the series and problems with other models have put the manufacturer far behind its European rival Airbus since March 2019. Finally, on an Alaska Airlines flight in early January 2024, a fuselage part from an almost new one 737-9 Max broke out, the US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) took action. Initially, machines were no longer allowed to start until a technical inspection was carried out. The authority also takes a close look at the production and control processes.
