In September, the district of Lüchow-Dannenberg introduced the 365-euro ticket for public and local transport. The district presented the concept on Monday.
Lüchow-Dannenberg is the first district in Germany to offer citizens a solution for the expiring nine-euro ticket. “Especially in a sparsely populated district with a large area, public transport is an important task and also a major challenge,” said District Administrator Dagmar Schulz (independent).
Student cards will be valid throughout the district
The new ticket is valid on the bus routes in the district and is part of the “CleverMoWe” public transport model project. Users can order the ticket online or from the mobility agency Wendland/Elbe. Pupil cards will in future also be valid for the entire district instead of just for the connection between school and place of residence. The new ticket is being financed from funds from the Federal Ministry of Transport’s “Model Projects to Strengthen Public Transport” funding program. The district has around 4.9 million euros available for investments in local transport by the end of 2024.
