People with a booster vaccination in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania are exempt from the obligation to test 2G-Plus from today. However, the so-called booster vaccination must be at least 14 days ago.
From today on, people with a booster vaccination are exempt from the mandatory 2G-Plus test in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania. Health Minister Stefanie Drese (SPD) announced on Wednesday. However, the so-called booster vaccination must be at least 14 days ago. The decision of the conference of health ministers on Tuesday was immediately incorporated into the Corona state ordinance, so that the regulation comes into force today.
Exception in hospitals and nursing homes
However, the obligation to test remains for all people with booster vaccination when they visit a hospital or a nursing home, said Drese. She doesn’t want to take any chances in this area.
Drese: Very high protection through booster vaccination
According to the available scientific knowledge, the protection after a booster vaccination is very high. It significantly reduces both the risk of infection and the risk of transmission. Therefore, based on the current state of knowledge, the lifting of the obligation to test for this group of people is correct and appropriate, emphasized the minister. But it is also important that the federal and state governments evaluate the regulations on an ongoing basis, after two months at the latest, and adjust them if necessary. So far it is unclear how quickly the Omikron variant will spread in Germany and what consequences this will have. According to a ministry spokesman, no Omikron case has yet become known in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania.
