Vision Pro: Good sales with large corporations – according to Apple

Apple’s first mixed reality headset, the Vision Pro, is apparently well received in industry circles. After the manufacturer had already reported that numerous European companies were interested in the device and working on the software, Apple CEO Tim Cook now also provided information about its distribution in the USA, the only official market for the hardware so far.

When Apple announced its latest quarterly figures last week, Cook said the Vision Pro had now reached “more than half” of the Fortune 100 companies. This list includes the hundred highest-grossing company in the USA. The Apple CEO did not provide specific information on sales of the headset, which has been available since February 2nd. In addition, there was no information about how many Vision Pro models could be sold to Fortune 100 corporations – so it could just be individual test copies.

It’s “great to see the enthusiasm of the corporate market.” The companies are exploring “innovative ways to do things that weren’t possible before,” Cook told analysts. Apple had previously named the companies KLM, SAP and Porsche from Europe, but also the DIY chain Lowe’s and the 3D instruction manufacturer BILT from the USA.

Apple has not given specific sales figures for its products for several years. At least individual sales are mentioned in the iPhone, iPad and Mac sectors. The Vision Pro, on the other hand, falls into the accessories or “other” section, which also covers the Apple Watch and other peripherals as well as home products. However, due to lower sales of the computer watch, sales fell in the last quarter. The Vision Pro apparently couldn’t compensate for this, but it was only on the market for two out of three months.

Recently there were reports that the Vision Pro hype had “fizzled out”. Apple even corrected its sales roadmap. Apparently no new, cheaper model is initially planned for 2025; according to analysts, Apple has reduced the purchase of 4K micro-OLED screens.
