Munich: What’s happening in the gastro – Munich

The colleague from the Viktualienmarkt, just a few steps away, has just made it big by publishing a fish cookbook. But now he’s coming Poseidon big, as befits a god of the sea. Because the fish and seafood specialty shop of the same name, located right on the corner of Westenriederstraße and Dreifaltigkeitsplatz, was renovated in the winter months and has been open again for two weeks.

owner Marcel Mergen, 27, who succeeds his father in management, and his mother Gabriele now reside in a dark blue dream: the tiles behind the showcases are said to be reminiscent of fish scales, the iron grilles and lamps above the massive wooden tables are reminiscent of fishing nets and drops of water. Nobody should say that the interior designers, in this case Scholz & Neumeier, didn’t think about it! In fact, you can sit just as comfortably inside at almost 30 seats as outside at the 13 tables for four.

From tuna carpaccio to bouillabaisse and spaghetti with seafood to five different types of oysters and other seafood and fish, there are plenty of daily specials. Poseidon also has matching white and red wines as well as champagne on offer, so it’s easy to get bogged down when shopping for fish. And because the Poseidon though at the Viktualienmarkt, but not on based on the Viktualienmarkt, it may also open in the evening. So far this has not been the case, but it should soon be on Friday and Saturday evenings as soon as enough service staff have been found for evening operations. The lack of staff in gastronomy is of course also felt here (Poseidon, Westenriederstraße 13, so far Monday to Friday 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., Saturday 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., hot meals from 11 a.m., telephone 089/299296, fisch-poseidon.de).

That’s bold, right across from the Eataly in the Schrannenhalle under the motto Bye Aprile to the Notte Italiana to invite But that Restaurant Blauer Bock dares to do so. Throughout April there will be a four-course menu on the subject of pasta at a fixed price of 50 euros per person. With a reservation for two, there is a bottle of red wine “from the lottery pot” on top. The menu features fregola sarda with white and green asparagus, homemade black pudding ravioli, paccheri with ragout di manzo and spaghetti ice cream (Restaurant Blauer Bock, Sebastiansplatz 2, Tuesday to Saturday 12-2.30 p.m. and from 6.30 p.m., closed on public holidays, telephone 089/45222333, www.restaurant-blauerbock.de).
