Mallorca closes eight bars because of drinking tourism | News

Will Malle vacationers soon finally say bye-bye Ballermann?

Apparently the Balearic government is serious about taking the fun out of the island from drinking tourists. Due to various violations of the so-called anti-booze tourism law, EIGHT bars in Mallorca are being forced to close until further notice. This was announced by the regional Ministry of Tourism in Palma on Wednesday.

According to the information, four of these bars are located at the Ballermann on Playa de Palma, which is particularly popular with German visitors. It is not known whether bars, discotheques, restaurants or beach kiosks are affected. As the “Mallorca Zeitung” reports, the ministry did not want to publish the names for data protection reasons.

In addition to the four bars at Ballermann, four bars in the British holiday and party stronghold of Magaluf are affected. In addition to the closures, investigations into violations of the law had been initiated in over 90 cases, it said.

Father’s Day 2017 on Malle. At the time, the trio told the BILD reporter about the lingerie: “We are the youngest in our club and were forced to walk around like that. That’s why we don’t say our names!”

Reason for the Malle earthquake: The operators are said to have served alcohol outside of the approved times and, on top of that, to minors! Some would also be accused of sexist advertising and the degradation of women.

The anti-booze tourism law was passed in 2020 to combat excesses in Playa de Palma, Magaluf and Sant Antoni on Ibiza. The regional government of the Balearic Islands has been striving for an image change for several years. They want to increase the quality of tourist offers with various initiatives and ban the so-called drunk vacationers if possible.

Just recently, eight German cone brothers from Münster (NRW) spent weeks in jail in Mallorca. They are charged with negligent arson. The fate of the eight friends moved all of Germany. You can read everything about the release of the “Stramm am Tisch” bowling club here.
