DISTURBANCES IN ROISSY CHARLES DE GAULLE

The storms reached Roissy Charles-de-Gaulle airport, with heavy rain and hail. Disruptions are underway, with flights on hold.

“Rain is currently moving towards Normandy but the bulk of the event has not yet started,” warns Météo France.

In detail, “a stormy wave, organized and intense, will sweep the regions from northern Burgundy to Hauts-de-France between the end of the afternoon and the second part of the night from Wednesday to Thursday. departments placed on orange alert, the storms promise to be virulent with high intensities of precipitation, hail, squalls”, specifies the meteorological service.

Furthermore, “the rains will continue this Wednesday at the end of the afternoon, maintaining a low to moderate intensity”, in France. “Given the unstable nature of these rains (even stormy in the east of Normandy and Eure-et-Loir), the accumulations observed will be very heterogeneous but will reach 20 to 30 mm on a widespread basis, adding to the previous rains. Over 24 hours (since Wednesday morning) the accumulations will generally reach 30 to 50 mm, locally 60 mm”, indicates Météo France. Note that the “soils that are still wet or even saturated in places constitute an aggravating factor”.

Hello everyone in this live broadcast dedicated to Météo-France’s orange vigilance which concerns 14 departments, including those of Île-de-France.

This Wednesday, May 1, Météo-France places 14 departments on orange alert for storms. These are all the departments of Ile-de-France (Paris, Seine-Saint-Denis, Val de Marne, Hauts-de-Seine, Val d’Oise, Seine et MarneL’EssonneTHE Yvelines), of the’Aisneof the’Oise and some Sum.

In these departments “the storms are expected to be virulent with high intensities of precipitation, hail, squalls” as well as a “marked electrical activity”indicated the meteorological agency in its latest bulletin published at 6:00 a.m.

For the day of Thursday, only 4 departments remain placed on orange vigilance: the SumL’Aisne, Oise and the Marl.

This Wednesday, in the border Alps, a return from the east will bring sustained and regular precipitation with a rain-snow limit around 2200 m. It will rain more lightly on the Atlantic coast, except the Breton tip which will find variable skies. Elsewhere the sky will be very cloudy in general, brighter in the northeast.

In the afternoon, in the west, the rains will slowly sink into the interior of the country, in the Pays de la Loire, Poitou and the South-West. To the west of the Pyrenees, the rain-snow limit will drop from 1600 to 1100 m, to the east from 1900 to 1500 m. The rains will persist from Normandy to the Center, Massif Central, Languedoc and PACA, they will also reach the Rhône-Alpes.

In the North and North-East, the weather will deteriorate except for Alsace which will maintain sunny weather. The sky will become cloudy and storms will break out in the late afternoon and evening in Burgundy-Franche-Comté. They will sometimes be violent with a risk of hail and strong gusts of wind, up to 80 km/h. These storms will shift in the evening to Champagne-Ardennes, Ile-de-France then Hauts-de-France during the night.

Minimum temperatures will range from 8 to 12 degrees, locally 6 to 7 in Brittany, 11 to 14 near the Mediterranean. The maximums will range from 13 to 16 degrees in the southwest half of the country, from 14 to 20 degrees from the southeast to the north, from 20 to 25 in the northeast with peaks at 26 or 27 in Alsace.
