Anyone who particularly likes content on Netflix will be able to give two virtual thumbs up in the future. But what is this innovation for?
With immediate effect, Netflix users worldwide will be given a new rating button. Up to now it was only possible to give a thumbs down with “Not for me” and a thumbs up with “Like”, but now there is the additional option of giving two virtual thumbs up. During the double thumbs in English for “Love This!” stands, he is in this country with a “Super!” marked.
What’s the extra button for? The associated press release states that the streaming service wants to capture the respective tastes of the users even faster and more precisely in this way. Anyone who sees a series or film with a “Super!” instead of a mere “Like”, you have better chances that the profile will be personalized in a meaningful way and that even more suitable suggestions can be made in the future.
Just the beginning?
The double thumbs up is the first adjustment to the rating system in five years, quotes the industry website “TechRadar” a spokesman for the company. And apparently it’s just the beginning of some changes that are planned for 2022: “We really want to present more personalization options this year. You’ll see a lot more from us in this area and this year,” says the Netflix employee.
