It’s not a “Utopia”, the best baguette in Paris is in the 11th arrondissement

For lovers of good bread, the announcement is more anticipated than that of the Nobel Prize or the new Miss France. The competition for the best baguette in Paris 2024 took place this Thursday, April 25 and crowned the bakery “L’Utopie” in the 11th arrondissement of Paris.

Located at 20 rue Jean-Pierre Timbaud, this bakery will have the honor of supplying the Elysée Palace for a year. In this Olympic year, it will, without a doubt, honor this icon of French gastronomy that is the baguette.

Specific criteria

Like every year, the competition, organized by the city of Paris, took place at the headquarters of the Union of Bakers of Greater Paris on Île Saint-Louis. The jury was made up, among others, of Anne Hidalgo’s deputy in charge of commerce and crafts, Nicolas Bonnet-Oulaldj.

The creations, prepared the same morning, had to meet criteria of size (from 55 to 70 cm) and weight (from 250 to 300 g).
