It’s that time again: Andrea Kiewel attracts visitors to her “ZDF television garden”. At the start of the new season there was a funny glitch.

The “ZDF TV Garden” opened its doors this Sunday (May 5th) and it started straight away with funny moments. From May to September will be Andrea Kiewel (58) leads through a total of 22 shows on Sundays and welcomes numerous guests in the TV garden. She celebrated the start of the new season with top-class visitors – and with a small breakdown.

The first show of the season already attracted many musicians to the Lerchenberg in Mainz. In addition to the pop stars Howard Carpendale (78) and Kerstin Ott (42), the Danish singer-songwriter Aura Dione (39) and the singing actor Tim Peters (33) also appeared. Former soccer stars Pierre Littbarski (64) and Thomas Häßler (57) also did the honors.

Name mismatch: Kumptner becomes Klumpner

The television chef Alexander Kumptner (40) was also on the guest list. Under the supervision of Andrea Kiewel, he prepared a cerviche that parts of the audience were allowed to try. But when announcing the “The Taste” star, Kiwi made a faux pas: she accidentally introduced the Austrian as “Alexander Klumpner” and caused a laugh.

When we were greeted on stage, the presenter quickly corrected herself and took the small mistake with humor. Just like Kumptner, because he was correctly named, a conversation followed about his home in Vienna and his noticeably cold hands.

Andrea Kiewel has been moderating the “ZDF TV Garden” for 24 years. In today’s broadcast, she described this career move as her “greatest professional happiness.”
