Home-jacking at the home of Parisian starred chef Jean-François Piège

This Friday, an investigation into armed robbery was opened after a homejacking at the Parisian home of starred chef Jean-François Piège. Only the family’s nanny was present, said the prosecution, confirming information from Actu 17.

“The individuals attacked the nanny who was present at Piège’s home before leaving with their loot, the first estimate of which is around 150,000 euros,” said the prosecution. The investigation into armed robbery, a criminal qualification, was entrusted to the 1st judicial police district of Paris, it was added.

Tied up nanny, watches and jewelry stolen

According to Actu17, three people knocked on the door of the chef’s home, located in the 1st arrondissement, and entered the home when the nanny opened the door for them. The latter was tied up, a source close to the case told AFP, while the suspects searched the premises. They allegedly stole jewelry and luxury watches before fleeing, according to the online media.

The practice of celebrity homejacking seems to be booming in the Paris region. The singer Vitaa, the radio host Bruno Guillon and even PSG players have been victims in recent months. Last weekend, presenter Anne-Sophie Lapix was the victim of a homejacking attempt at her home in the 16th arrondissement of Paris while she and her family were there.
