Overall had in the first Election round on September 24th three candidates and one female candidate were nominated for the election of mayor. In addition to Dornack and Schenk, André Krillwitz and Katrin Kuhnt (both independent) were up for election. Krillwitz, who is currently mayor of Wolfen, received 21.4 percent of the vote. Katrin Kuhnt, who works as a department head in the city administration of Dessau-Roßlau, achieved 15.6 percent.
