Five schools in the district of Munich have been recognized as “good healthy schools” after participating in a corresponding state program. The primary schools in Deisenhofen and Kirchheim, the Carl Steinmeier middle school in Hohenbrunn, the grammar school in Ottobrunn and the Fachoberschule in Haar were honored. Across Bavaria, 178 schools were confirmed to have implemented at least two health projects from different subject areas. The spectrum ranged from nutrition and exercise to mental health, stress and addiction prevention. Health Minister Klaus Holetschek (CSU) says: “Knowing which foods and diets are good for you and how crucial sport and exercise are is an immensely important building block for a healthy life.”
