Katie Taylor vs Chantelle Cameron – Undisputed Light-Welterweight title: Live round-by-round updates as Taylor aims for redemption; plus Gary Cully takes on Reece Mould
Follow Mail Sport’s live blog for the latest news and round-by-round updates as Katie Taylor takes on Chantelle Cameron for the second time aiming to become the undisputed Light-Welterweight champion.
Round 4 – Mould having to defend
Cully was perhaps saved by the bell at the end of the second after the strong right from Mould.
Cully is looking to throw one or two shots but keep pulling out. He’s got to be doubting himself after losing last time.
Better as the fourth round goes on. Mould having to defend.
Round 2 – Cully putting in a positive showing
WBA Continental European Lightweight Championship on the line. Mould is 18-1, Cully 16-1.
Cully is much taller and has a longer reach. But Mould is throwing more early, dodging anything Cully does throw.
Good feet from Cully before a big right from Cully. Even after two, but Cully heavy favourite here.
Cully versus Mould up next
Gary Cully vs Reece Mould is up next in the chief support. Another Ireland versus England, with the hosts 2-0 up with two to go…
It’s a big one for Cully, who lost to Jose Felix Jr on the undercard last time.
A bad omen?
One for the conspiracy theorists… the same two musicians played Taylor and Cameron into the weigh in in the week that did before their first bout.
Taylor and Cameron were welcomed to the stage by two violinists, who were playing the Game of Throwns theme song and dancing around the rostrum as the fans at the Helix theatre cheered for the challenger.
Joseph Parker is ringside
Joseph Parker, preparing for his bout in Saudi against Deontay Wilder next month, enjoyed that.
A job well done from Donovan
Really impressive from Donovan, that. He if Carty disappointed his home crowd, Donovan certainly did not.
He controlled proceedings and boxed at his own pace throughout. Ball is no pushover.
Ball was trying to go round Donovan to land a shot but a quick left-right saw him floored, and a solid body shot ended it as the towel went in.
A great win for the Irishman.
Donovan stops Ball!
A big, big right hand from Donovan. He’s up and we carry on and Donovan is going for blood.
Ball is on his knees and the towel goes in! Donovan wins!
Donovan in control
A good few shots from Donovan early on, one at the body. Ball lands a good one to the face back.
Ball is quite a slow starter traditionally but it’s been quite event so far despite Donovnan controlling proceedings.
A couple of really good shots in the second. Donovan is really growing into it here.
Donovan versus Ball up next
Welterweight action next. Two in-form fighters, with Danny Ball taking on Paddy Donovan. Another great reception for another Irishman.
Ball is 13-1-1, the English welterweight champion. Donovan is 11-0.
Ed Sheeran speaks to DAZN
And it’s his first ever fight!
‘My grandad used to box and run a gym and I play on fight nights but my dad gets to a lot of them. It was my dad’s birthday and I thought my first fight night should be watching Katie.
This place in general is a great atmosphere. I think it will be incredible becuase the Irish are very proud of their own.
‘We met Eddie and Frank in Detroit and we were thinking of setting up a ppv between me and my dad but we have to get the money right!’
Carty stops Garber
Some harsh words for Carty in his corner. Garber’s trainers were telling him the Irishman had punched himself out, but they are both knackered.
Oh Garber goes down in the last round! And the referee calls it off!
That’s that. Carty has won but it wasn’t the show many were expecting.
One round to go
Depp into the fight now, by far the furthest Garber has ever gone.
He finally throws a few punches in anger, but Carty lines him up towards the end of the sixth as he looks to accelerate things.
Here we go! Garber is hanging on after a big shot to the body and Carty senses blood with his opponent in his corner.
Carty can’t finish it and he isn’t happy at the end of round seven. One to go.
Both men struggling
He’s still swinging wildly, Carty, and his feet are not together at all. It’s very predictable and he’s falling over his front foot a lot.
It’s not great from Garber either. He’s not trying to win it or anything. It’s not the best of fights.
An incredible reaction for Carty
It’s Carty versus Garber now.
A test for Carty, with Garber the first southpaw he’s faced in his pro career as a southpaw himself. But the latter has little experience, never going past four rounds.
A great reception for Carty in his hometown. This is Garber’s first time not fighting in Yorkshire.
Eight rounds scheduled for this heavyweight fight. Celtic heavyweight championship on the line.
Clunky from Carty so far, missing a few times with wild lefts. Words exchanged too with some hits on the back of the head from both men.
Cameron ‘learnt a lot’ from first fight
Some more words from Chantelle Cameron ahead of the main event tonight.
She went into the first fight the underdog but shocked the world. Now she has the chance to stamp her legacy.
She has spoken in the build-up about how she learnt a lot from that first bout.
Nicolson beats Wildheart
The towel comes in from Wildheart’s corner in the ninth round and that is all.
A really impressive performance from Skye Nicolson, her first win inside the distance in her career.
She’ll be hoping to really kick on now after accepting she won’t be at the Olympics next year.
Wildheart to become a firefighter?!
A story from Charlotte on Lucy Wildheart, who is keen to become a fire fighter!
She’s struggling a bit here in this fight – Nicolson is well on top after seven – but the drive is admirable.
Wildheart’s background had a lot of attention in the build-up to the bout.
Nicolson on top after four rounds
‘She won’t like your workrate,’ Wildheart’s corner said between rounds two and three.
She can put the work in but Nicolson has her opponent scouted. More than comfortable to sit back and pick her opponent off.
Comfortable for the champion four rounds in.
Nicolson versus Wildheart underway
First up then for the official undercard we have Skye Nicolson vs Lucy Wildheart for the WBC interim featherweight championship.
The undefeated Nicolson is heavy favourite here.
Two rounds in of 10 and it’s slow going but Wildheart has been decent. She’s got to be careful not to fall over the front foot but she’s been the one moving forward, Nicolson cautious.
Ed Sheeran is here!
It’s not often you see Ed at a boxing event!
There is the Bill Sheeran link, of course. He’s been deep in conversation with Eddie Hearn.
Taylor targeting ‘statement victory’
The ‘Before the Bell’ fights are over now and the main show is strating for the ‘proper’ undercard, if you like.
Eddie Hearn is speaking on DAZN saying that this was on the only fight Taylor was interested in, and she would have rejected 10 times the money to face Serrano.
She’s just ready to fight. Read more from Charlotte below.
‘I’ll fight anyone’
Strong words from Barrett post-bout.
‘It was ok. It was good to get out and he’s a good fighter.
‘I will put people in positions where they have to fight me. I have the best promotor in the world. Trust the process. As long as I get the preparation, it’s perfect. But it has to make sense.’
‘I’ll fight anyone, just give me the right preparation and carrott at the end.’
Barrett beats Ion by unanimous decision
Barrett started to move forward more often as the fight went on, a few more body shots. Ion gave it a good go but Barrett has done his job.
Ion was doing alright until he walked into a right hand in the seventh. Barrett sensed blood but it was too close to the end of the round to finish the job.
The Romanian was bleeding at the end of the round. It went the distance but Barrett got it done.
Barrett vs Ion well underway
We’re halfway through the fourth fight of the fight, which is Zelfa Barrett vs Costin Ion.
Barrett is well on top, as expected, using the ring well and his jab has been great. But Ion has been throwing a few shots too, and many may have throught the job would be done by now.
Last time
When the two women in tonight’s main event faced off for the first time, it was billed as the homecoming for Taylor, who had enjoyed success all over the world and was undefeated.
But things didn’t go to plan. Taylor struggled throughout, and Cameron took the match via amjority decision.
It was originally supposed to be Taylor versus Ama nda Serrano pulled out through injury, with Cameron stepping in and the bout being for the undisputed super lightweight championship.
Cameron on psychological training
Charlotte Daly is our reporter at the arena tonight and she’s been delivering coverage from Dublin all week. I’ll drip feed some of it in in the build-up to the bout.
First of all, Cameron on the psychological training she underwent ahead of the first fight and how she’s been sparring men to prepare for the rematch.
Visioli and Cooney successful
It was light work for Giorgio Visioli against Lee Anthony Sibley in the first fight of the night, with the former knocking out his opponent in the first round.
Second up, John Cooney beat Liam Gaynor in the Celtic Super Featherweight Title bout.
Brennan beats Morrissey by TKO
Former Olympian (and home favourite) Emmet Brennan has just beaten Jamie Morrissey by TKO, stopping him in the final round.
A really, really good fight actually. And the crowd is happy.
Tonight’s agenda
Chantelle Cameron vs Katie Taylor
Gary Cully vs Reece Mould
Paddy Donovan vs Danny Ball
Thomas Carty vs Dan Garber
Skye Nicolson vs Lucy Wildheart
Zelfa Barrett vs Costin Ion

Giorgio Visioli vs Lee Anthony Sibley
That’s what we have on the bill tonight, starting at the bottom.
Some are already finished but I’ll round you up on that soon. Brennan versis Morrissey is coming to an end…
The main event
Taylor versus Cameron. Round two. Light-Welterweight championship.
We’re expecting ring walks at between 10 and 11 for this one, and the stakes could hardly be higher.
Taylor is looking for revenge against tonight’s opponent, having lost for the first time earlier this year to the woman from Northampton.
