Six years of controversy have come to an end. When it came to the question of whether Jan Böhmermann’s diatribe against Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan was permissible, the satirist ultimately suffered a defeat. The judges at the Federal Constitutional Court dismiss his complaint – without justification. It is the culmination of a dispute over the question of where the boundaries of art lie.
