Cinema and the rest of the world, the impositions of so-called reality, that has always been a tense relationship at the Cannes Festival. In the first week, anyone who only looks at the films and the news from the cinema industry could almost forget that there was a war in Ukraine. The picture was only disturbed by an activist dressed in the colors of Ukraine who poured fake blood on herself on the red carpet – and by Finnish veteran and art cinema darling Aki Kaurismäki.
