In the series “Bridgerton” modern pop songs are covered by an orchestra. There will also be hits to be heard in the third season.

The third season of “Bridgerton” starts on May 16th – and again has a lot of music in its luggage. In the hit Netflix series, current pop songs are covered by a classical orchestra for the stately ball scenes. You can also hear orchestral pop covers in the new episodes. This time, “Happier Than Ever” by Billie Eilish (22), “Dynamite” by BTS and “Cheap Thrills” by Sia (48) are among the songs that the string players have reinterpreted for the soundtrack. That reports Variety magazine.

Nick Jonas’ (31) “Jealous” and “Snow On The Beach” were also re-recorded by Taylor Swift (34) and Lana Del Rey (38). “I’m starting to think about songs from the past that might be suitable for this, and then also current hits that might make sense,” explains Justin Kamps, who is responsible for the music for the third season, on the website of Netflix Tudum. His selection depends on the script, the themes, the choreography and the emotions.

Soundtrack will be released in two parts

The third season of the historical romance “Bridgerton” consists of a total of eight episodes. The first four will appear next Thursday, the second part will follow on June 13th. The same goes for the soundtrack. Here too, the first songs can be heard on May 16th.

In the new season, the musical moments will not only appear in the ball sequences. Kamps revealed that he also found other moments to incorporate the covers into.
