Biathlon mass start in Antholz – Doll celebrates her first victory in over two years

Shortly before the Olympics, Benedikt Doll (31) is in top form! In Antholz, the German wins the Antholz mass start, his first World Cup victory in an individual race in over two years (most recently in December 2019).

On the final lap, the German even overtakes super runner Johannes Thingnes Bø (from Norway (+31.3 seconds down). For Doll, it’s only the fifth World Cup success in his career, the first in a mass start.

Doll on ARD: “I’m incredibly happy. It’s really nice that it worked out with the win and not just with a podium finish.”

Third place went to Norway’s Sturla Holm Laegreid. The other German placements: Johannes Kühn is 19th after surviving the corona infection, Roman Rees 21st.

Kühn on his comeback: “I was never really bad, but I did have a bit of a cough for two days. The race is actually there to get back into the rhythm. And then make the best use of the next two weeks.”
