The expansion of the AI assistant Copilot is part of a multi-billion dollar partnership between Microsoft and the creator of ChatGPT, OpenAI. Microsoft provides extensive server capacity for training OpenAI’s AI models and in return receives access to the company’s advanced technologies.
OpenAI CEO Sam Altman highlighted at the conference that AI can be used in many ways, but “the more it can simply be a layer that is built into every product, every service, the better.” When asked about the controversy surrounding the similarity of ChatGPT’s voice to that of actress Scarlett Johansson, Altman stressed that another actress was used as a template. He spoke positively about the voice model, which enabled fluent conversation with people during the demonstration.
