The fatal shock took place a little before 9 p.m. Monday evening. A man in his twenties, who was riding a scooter, died in an accident with a car, on the Promenade des Anglais in Nice. In cardiac arrest when the firefighters arrived, he could not be revived, we learned from the Alpes-Maritimes departmental fire and rescue service (Sdis). The driver of the vehicle was unhurt.
Six deaths linked to scooters in the department
The exact causes of this accident were not established Monday evening. An investigation has been opened. According to Nice morningten people have died in accidents involving electric scooters in the department.
In June 2022, a 5-year-old Ukrainian, a refugee in Nice, a pedestrian on the Promenade des Anglais, was fatally struck down by one of these two-wheelers. Following this accident, the municipality installed new facilities on the seafront cycle path, including traffic lights.
