A wave of storms and Finistère on orange alert

Pierrick is full of breath. This new storm will approach northern Finistère this Monday early in the afternoon, generating violent winds and a risk of wave-submersion. For these two phenomena, Météo-France has placed the Breton department on orange alert for the end of the afternoon and the evening of Monday. Wind gusts could reach up to 130 km/h on the islands and coast of Finistère.

Côtes-d’Armor, Ille-et-Vilaine and Manche will be affected by orange wave-submersion vigilance from Tuesday morning.

While the east of the country should remain relatively dry this Monday, from Pays de Loire to Aquitaine, the sky will become overcast and widespread rain will set in. Elsewhere, showers will occur, they will often be stormy from the west of the Pyrenees to Normandy and the Belgian border.

A diagonal of storms

Monday evening, the disturbed weather with sometimes stormy rains will extend from the Belgian border to the Massif Central and the Pyrenees, before shifting towards the east of France. The rain-snow limit will drop suddenly from 2,000 to 1,200 m in the Pyrenees.

Maximum temperatures will not exceed 13 to 18 degrees from Brittany to Cotentin, they will be between 19 and 22 degrees over the rest of the northwest quarter, between 20 and 25 degrees elsewhere, locally 26 or 27 on the eastern flank of the country.
