It had become “one of the ten priority targets” worldwide in the fight against online child crime. A sentence of 18 to 20 years of criminal imprisonment was requested on Friday in Bordeaux against a former cantoner accused of incest.
The attorney general asked the Gironde Assize Court, where the trial has been held behind closed doors since Wednesday, to attach this sentence to a two-thirds security period and to order socio-judicial monitoring during ten years, with a care order and a ban on contact with children, parties in the file said. Hunted for several years
Tried for having possessed and distributed on the Internet “tens of thousands” of pornographic photos and videos “featuring very young minors”, including his own two little girls, the 43-year-old father is also responsible for rape and repeated sexual assaults on the latter, from their birth in 2012 and 2015 until his arrest in 2020. In 2017, he notably shared images showing two little girls then “around five years old” for one, “a or two years” for the other, which turned out to be his.
Police officers from the Central Office for the Suppression of Personal Violence tracked for several years, in collaboration with Europol and Interpol, this “very active” Internet user, known in particular under the pseudonym “Kali”. A “technical imprudence” committed in 2020 during the transfer of a video made it possible to identify him, investigators finding at his home in Frontenac (Gironde) several tens of thousands of files showing images of children victims of child criminals in the whole world.
In addition to the family, four child protection associations have become civil parties. At the request of his ex-spouse, mother of their three children, the court ordered the hearing to be held in camera for the three days of the hearing. The verdict is expected at the end of the day after the defense’s closing arguments. The accused, who admits the facts, faces twenty years in prison.
