Better late than never. A year and a half after their nightmarish vacation in Vendée, around a hundred campers learned on Wednesday that they will finally be compensated for their misadventures.
At the end of an investigation, the departmental directorate for population protection (DDPP) recognized that three establishments of the Vnaya group, since sometimes nicknamed “the campsites of horror”, had committed “the offense of deceptive commercial practice “, noted the Directorate General for Competition, Consumer Affairs and Fraud Prevention.

It must be said that in the summer of 2022, complaints had accumulated against the La Dive campsites in Saint-Michel-en-L’Herm, La Fresnerie in Saint-Gervais and La Puerta del Sol in Saint- Hilaire-de-Riez. “Green swimming pool”, “filthy mobile home”, “hygiene problems”… The consumers, who had gathered collectively, had described to 20 minutes a “vacation ruined” by lies and dysfunction. The authorities had also taken up the matter since total or partial closures (of the swimming pool for example) had been requested.
In total, 93 victims were identified, to whom the Vnaya group will soon have to pay compensation. The people concerned, who welcome this “good news”, however wonder about the amount announced, which does not cover the entire amount paid for this wasted summer.
