During the preparations for the survival show “7 vs. Wild”, documentary filmmaker Andreas Kieling is said to have “crossed the line” with a 22-year-old candidate, which led to his exclusion from the format.

The survival show “7 vs. Wild” is entering its third season – a real surprise success, considering that the format is not on regular television, but only on YouTube so far, and the participants – except for its slope Joey Kelly, well-known for extreme sports and adventures – is primarily about influencers, streamers and celebrities that hardly anyone over 30 knows. The concept: Seven participants, or seven teams, have to endure a certain amount of time in the wilderness with only a few tools and a sleeping bag. The shooting for the new, third season takes place in the forests of Canada.

And actually, in addition to Kelly, there should be another well-known face: the documentary filmmaker Andreas Kieling, 63, known through many programs, especially travel and animal documentaries, in the public broadcasters. But his adventure in Canada ended before the survival show officially began. His departure was announced during training camp.

Andreas Kieling leaves the show before shooting begins

The show’s Instagram channel said: “Due to an incident between Ann-Kathrin Bendixen and Andreas Kieling during the pre-season in Canada, we decided before the contestants were suspended not to have Andreas Kieling participate in Season 3 of ‘7 vs ‘To let wild’ participate. It’s a transgression that we didn’t want to and couldn’t tolerate.” Kieling was supposed to compete in a team with Joey Kelly, instead he will now participate with reserve candidate Jan Lange, influencer and cliff diver.

It is not known what exactly happened between Bendixen and Kieling, but two other candidates, the survival influencers “Naturensöhne”, comment on their channel: “The border crossing was made by well over 10 people, consisting of participants, organizers and film crew, observed. So there is nothing to question. Andreas Kieling acted strongly across borders, and in a way that seemed absolutely disgusting to us.”

Candidate is mobbed on the net

He has since apologized to participant Ann-Kathrin Bendixen, author and influencer (known as “Monkey on Bike”), so the matter is now closed for her. However, apparently not for some idiots on the net who blame the 22-year-old for the departure of the animal filmmaker, who accuse her of lying and exaggeration. Other participants in the show have already strongly defended her, since the incident was apparently observed by several people present.

The show should now take place without Kieling. The third season of “7 vs. Wild” is expected to be broadcast in November 2023.
