Timo Werner leads Leipzig to their next victory. He comes on late and scores.

RB coach Rose is happy for Werner

The Leipzig record goalscorer is assured of support from the coach and the team. “You could tell that it wasn’t easy for him. That made it all the more important not to let himself down. He kept working, stayed calm and always pushed the team. He never let himself down,” said Kampl. Werner’s class is undisputed. “Timo has qualities that not every player has. And we depend on these qualities over the course of the season. He will play his games again from the start,” said Kampl.

By the way, Werner wasn’t the match winner for his team for the first time at Borussia Park. Four years ago he led RB Leipzig to a 3-1 win against Gladbach with a hat-trick and was then celebrated extensively. Rose probably also liked the fact that he didn’t speak publicly this time. “It’s important that he handles the situation correctly,” said the coach.
