Man indicted for repeat murder

A 34-year-old man was taken into custody Thursday after the murder of a fifty-year-old in Brest. He was finally indicted for premeditated murder as a repeat offender, since this is not his first crime, the public prosecutor announced this Saturday. The fatal attack took place at the foot of the buildings of the city of Kérédern in Brest, Wednesday in the middle of the afternoon.

The suspect, who admitted his responsibility during his custody, explained that he “went to get his knife before committing the acts. If a dispute linked to the damage committed to the victim’s vehicle seemed to have opposed the two protagonists, the reasons for this action remained quite elusive,” specified the magistrate.

Repeated offense and under guardianship

On the instructions of those in custody, investigators found seven knives in a box stored in one of the shared gardens in the city of Brest, including the potential murder weapon. An autopsy of the victim and analyzes of the weapons discovered are underway.

Placed in pre-trial detention, the man who faces life imprisonment had already been sentenced by the Finistère Assize Court for acts of armed robbery, completes the press release from the prosecution. He also benefits from a curatorship measure.
