Can HSV not make it up again? In Magdeburg, the Hamburgers are weak and are heading for relegation. Arminia Bielefeld has to cope with a setback in the relegation battle.

Hamburger SV has suffered a setback in the promotion race to the second division and has to worry about the long-awaited comeback in the Bundesliga. Coach Tim Walter’s team lost 2:3 (1:1) at 1. FC Magdeburg and is four points behind a direct promotion place.

HSV is on the relegation rank and there six points ahead of fourth-placed SC Paderborn. Arminia Bielefeld slipped to the relegation rank after a 1: 2 (0: 0) at FC St. Pauli. Hansa Rostock overtook East Westphalia with a 1-0 (1-0) win at 1. FC Kaiserslautern.

In the evening game, Hannover 96 secured their place in the middle of the table with a 3-0 (1-0) win over 1. FC Nürnberg. In front of 28,500 spectators, Julian Börner (43rd minute), Derrick Köhn (49th) and Maximilian Beier (70th) scored the goals for the hosts. The Nuremberg stuck through the defeat as table 13. continue in the relegation battle.

“In the end we have to look at our own noses”

In front of 27,075 spectators in the sold-out Magdeburg stadium, former HSV player Moritz Kwarteng (32nd) gave the hosts the lead, Sonny Kittel (42nd) equalized before the break. Baris Atik (74th) and Tatsuya Ito (86th) caused the defeat of the favorite. Hamburg’s 2:3 by Ludovit Reis (90+4) came too late.

“In the end we have to take a look at our own nose,” said Hamburg’s captain Sebastian Schonlau on Sky. In an entertaining game, HSV played more, but always had to watch out for Magdeburg’s counterattacks. In addition, the Hamburgers had no luck with the decisions of the video assistant that day. Two goals were rightly disallowed for offside, and referee Harm Osmers (Hanover) took back a penalty after viewing the video images.

Bielefeld is angry, Rostock can be happy

Bielefeld suffered their third defeat in a row at St. Pauli. Marcel Hartel (53rd minute) and Lukas Daschner (69th) scored the goals for the hosts at the Millerntor. Jomaine Consbruch (73rd) was successful for Bielefeld. Consburch (82′) and Lukas Klünter (90′) had more chances, but Arminen’s rebellion came too late.

While Bielefeld was angry, Rostock can at least temporarily be happy about 15th place in the table. Kai Pröger scored the winning goal for the visitors from the Baltic Sea in the 42nd minute in Kaiserslautern.
