Würzburg: Eleven injured after pepper spray was used at a folk festival – Bavaria

At least eleven people were injured by pepper spray at the spring folk festival in Würzburg-Zellerau. On Saturday evening, the police found a 19-year-old suspect in the marquee, whose blood was taken at the request of the public prosecutor. The police announced this on Sunday. The young man is being investigated for grievous bodily harm.

According to this, there was a dispute between several people involved in the festival tent for reasons that are still unclear. According to his own statements, the 19-year-old defended himself with his pepper spray against the people who were said to have started the argument. Some uninvolved festival visitors were also harmed by the irritant gas. So far, the police have become aware of eleven people who suffered eye and respiratory irritation. They received medical care on site. The background to the dispute was initially unclear. The investigation is ongoing.
