In large parts of Germany the roads are slippery. The DWD advises avoiding unnecessary time outdoors.

The German Weather Service (DWD) is expecting slippery conditions due to freezing rain in large areas on Friday morning Germany warned. The warning situation report said: “In the middle and to the east partly snow or ice grains, partly rain with black ice.”

Rain is also to be expected in the southern parts of the country, and black ice is often expected to freeze in Bavaria. In Baden-Württemberg, however, the situation should ease.

The DWD advised avoiding unnecessary time outdoors and travel. Delays and hindrances would have to be planned for. No major disruptions or accidents in rush-hour traffic had been reported until late Friday morning – except in parts of Hesse. According to the Rhine-Main Transport Association, there were disruptions to bus traffic there.
