Princess Kate has rarely spoken publicly since her cancer diagnosis. Now she and her husband Prince William have released a statement.

Princess Kate (42) has once again given a sign of life. The wife of Prince William (41), who is currently undergoing cancer treatment and is taking a break from her public duties, spoke out on Instagram over the weekend.

Princess Kate and Prince William make statement

Together with William, she published a short statement about the crash of a small military aircraft near a Royal Air Force (RAF) base in Lincolnshire. The pilot was killed.

“It was very sad to hear the news from RAF Coningsby this afternoon,” wrote the Prince and Princess of Wales on X“Our thoughts are with the pilot’s family, the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight and the wider RAF family,” it continues. The short statement was signed by “W & C” – for William and Catherine.

Prince William was a pilot himself for a long time

The accident is likely to have a particularly strong impact on the British heir to the throne. After all, he is patron of the Royal Air Force Battle of Britain Memorial Flight and honorary commander of RAF Coningsby, where the accident occurred. William himself has completed military training, including four months in the air force. He then trained as a search and rescue pilot. The royal worked actively as a pilot for several years.

Princess Kate announced her cancer diagnosis to the public in March. Since then, she has been undergoing treatment and is pausing her duties and tasks as a royal until further notice. Her last public appearance was at the Christmas service with her family. In January, the mother of three underwent abdominal surgery and was subsequently diagnosed with cancer. Her father-in-law, King Charles III (75), also has cancer, but he is now attending appointments again.
