Little rain, falling water levels, water-saving measures: it is much too dry in many countries in southern Europe, but also in Ireland and Great Britain. Little snow fell in the Alps. That doesn’t bode well for the coming months.

In Barcelona, the sprinkler systems in the parks are turned off. Trees and shrubs should now only be irrigated to a minimum “to ensure the survival of vegetation in the parks with minimal water consumption,” according to the Catalan government. There is no need to clean the sidewalk at all, except in the case of an acute health risk.
