This news shocked not only his fans last week: Christian Oliver, known as Chief Inspector Jan Richter in the RTL action series “Alarm for Cobra 11 – The Motorway Police”, died in a plane crash in the Caribbean. The 51-year-old’s two daughters, who were on board the light aircraft, also died.
Now Jessica Klepser, the mother of the two ten and twelve year old girls, has spoken out for the first time. The Pilates trainer posted a poignant message on her personal Instagram account. The abundance of love she is currently receiving is indescribable. “From those closest to me, from my community, from people far away, from complete strangers,” she sees the news and hears the words, which gives her a lot of strength, she writes.

She also feels the love of her daughters Madita and Annik as well as Christian: “They are with me every step of the way and they watch over us.” Finally, Klepser made an appeal to her followers: “Please keep spreading love!! Hug your loved ones, tell them you love them, be kind to each other. And stop arguing and getting upset over little things. That `s not worth it. Life is too precious.”
Hardest time of her life: Fundraiser for Jessica Klepser
American comedian Sarah Silverman has on gofundme.com a digital fundraising campaign was launched to at least support Jessica Klepser financially during what was probably the most difficult time of her life. “Your donations will help cover the costs of returning Christian and the girls home, funeral and memorial services, and legal costs, and will go a long way toward supporting Jessica and the extended family at this terribly difficult time,” it says on the page. So far, more than $170,000 has been raised.
The girls’ mother was in Los Angeles at the time of the accident. The fundraising page says Madita was a confident and vibrant Grade 7 student, “known for her lively spirit, bright smile and outstanding achievements in education, singing and dance.” Annik, a 4th grade student, “had a quiet but strong demeanor. She was always the first to offer a kind word or a comforting hug. She loved all her friends, dancing and making bracelets.”
Both girls were integral members of their school community: “Their laughter and sense of adventure will be sorely missed by all the families and friends who were touched by their lives.”
Christian Oliver, born Christian Klepser in 1972, headed towards international cinema after the RTL success. In 2006 he was seen in the US film “The Good German” alongside George Clooney and Cate Blanchett, directed by Steven Soderbergh. In 2008, Christian Oliver was in front of the camera for both the Wachowskis’ “Speed Racer” and Bryan Singer’s “Operation Walküre”. People magazine named Oliver one of the “50 most beautiful guys in the universe.”
In the early 2000s, Oliver met Jessica Mazur, who moved to the USA with him in 2005. They married at the end of the 2000s, their first daughter was born in 2011, and another daughter two years later. Oliver is said to have filed for divorce in 2021, but it was never finalized, writes the Bild newspaper.
