“Who will be a millionaire?” – Unlucky Thomas Müller: ER had applied for 21 years – TV

For him, the long wait hardly paid off.

In the Christmas special of “Who Wants to be a Millionaire?”, Candidate Thomas Müller (46) gambled away on Monday evening and had to go home with a mere 500 euros.

Particularly tragic: In order to be able to take part in the quiz show, the advice fox from Mellingen near Weimar applied for an incredible 21 years. Even Günther Jauch (65) could hardly believe that.

The moderator was amazed when his counterpart, after answering the fifth question, told him: “Now I can at least say that I have the expenses for the 21 years of application costs back.” Since the beginning of 2000, the teacher for sports and Latin tried again and again his luck.

Jauch always tells how quickly you can make it into your show. To prove it, he immediately asked the other candidates: “How long did it take you?” For most of them, ONE call to the applicant hotline was actually enough.

Then the next surprise: Among the pedagogue’s phone jokers was Jauch’s first millionaire winner, Eckhard Freise (77). Müller reported: “We spent what felt like three days on the phone. He gave me a letter and told me how I could face you. ”

Freise was used for as little as 8,000 euros. Jauch wanted to know from Müller: “Who will the reader meet again in the current bestseller ‘Glitterschnitter’?” The choices were Sams, Franz Eberhofer, Herr Lehmann and Lisbeth Salander. Because two jokers didn’t get the candidate any further, he called Freise.

It was in his basement right now, so the connection was correspondingly bad. Jauch asked the professor: “You have to press the hands-free button.” Freise was then a little overwhelmed: “If I knew where it is.” But he had the right nose for the answer and advised Mr. Lehmann. Jauch’s candidate logged in and was one round further.

But the streak of luck did not last. For 32,000 euros it was necessary to answer this question: “Who was sentenced to one year in prison without parole in September?” Tony Blair, Georg W. Bush, Nicolas Sarkozy (correct) or Silvio Berlusconi? Müller wanted to gamble and, although he had no clue, took Berlusconi.

The shock when Jauch resolved the answer as wrong was great. Müller crashed to 500 euros and said bently: “That would have been my trip. I’ve had this for five years. “Jauch wanted to cheer up the unlucky fellow and said when he left:” Here completely different ones have even fallen from 500,000. “

For his candidate only little consolation …
