Weather Tuesday May 2: nice improvement, after the dissipation of the fog

After an unstable weekend and Monday May 1st, the Azores high pressure returns and brings an improvement over ¾ of the country with increasingly generous cloud thinnings as the hours go by, after the dissipation of a great many fogs this morning.

Evolution compared to yesterday


What has changed compared to yesterday is the return of calm weather over ¾ of the country with fairly good sunny spells in the afternoon. What is also changing are the fogs, numerous this morning, which sometimes have difficulty dissipating. In the afternoon, it is milder than yesterday Monday.

Of the Alps to the Corsica Passing by there french rivierathe weather is variable, sometimes threatening with a small chance of showers in the afternoon.

In the South West and in Auvergneafter a gray and foggy morning, sunny spells return in the afternoon.

North of the Loire, there are many gloom this morning. The dissipation of the clouds and sometimes stubborn morning fogs is slow, then the thinnings end up imposing themselves more and more widely.

Everywhere else, the low morning clouds quickly give way to clearings and sunshine. From Roussillon to the middle Rhone Valley to Provence, the Mistral and the Tramontana blow strongly, up to 90 km/h in gusts.

Subsequent trend : Wednesday, the high pressure will guarantee us calm and dry weather. The sun will prevail everywhere. It will be cool in the morning with a risk of white frost at sunrise, from the north and east to the center of the country. Then the atmosphere will heat up quickly with a peak of heat expected over a large south-west quarter of the territory with 30°C in the Basque country.
