After the warm days it will be turbulent in Lower Saxony. The German Weather Service (DWD) predicts heavy rain and gusts of wind for western Lower Saxony.
The amounts of precipitation are locally up to 40 liters per square meter. There can also be gusts of wind with speeds of up to 85 kilometers per hour and small-grain hail. The official severe weather warning is valid until 2 p.m. for the time being
Hardly any risk of storms on the North Sea
As early as Thursday, the ARD weather competence center warned of local thunderstorms with hail and heavy rain with precipitation of 15 to 30 liters per square meter and gusts of wind at speeds of up to 90 kilometers per hour in Lower Saxony, as the ARD weather competence center says. The southern and southwestern half of Lower Saxony is expected to be affected, but there could also be severe thunderstorms in the middle and in the north, it said. The least danger is directly on the North Sea.
